Therapy
How long are sessions and how many sessions might I need?
Each session lasts for about 50 minutes. As far as how long someone might stay in therapy, that is completely up to you. Some people come to therapy for a specific issue and some people use therapy as ongoing self care. You can continue as long as it is useful to you and end at any time.
Can I use insurance?
The short answer is Yes.
The long answer is you can use insurance, you will just need to submit to insurance yourself. You be will provided documentation of our session so you can be reimbursed.
Is what I say confidential?
You can trust that what you share in therapy will be kept confidential except…
If what you share tells me you are going to harm yourself, harm someone else, or someone is harming you and you are a minor or older adult.
If notes are subpoenaed.
If you are a minor and information needs to be shared with your parent for safety reasons.
What type of therapy is this and will it help me?
Solution Focused Brief Therapy
What I can say is that it has helped me. And in using it with my clients I have seen bigger shifts and realizations than traditional problem solving methods, venting or digging for root causes, and even working with specific tools. It is a way to shift focus and perspective from the problem to the solution, to life without the problem, to what it is you want to create. In fact, the conversation is the creation, the inception, and the tangible realization of that creation is what follows.
Yoga
I am not flexible, can I still do yoga?
Yes, if you can breathe you can do yoga, and if you ask me increasing your range of motion is an excellent by product of the practice. Being able to bend down and tie your shoes, ie remain independent, is pretty sweet.
What do I need to bring to a yoga session?
You will need comfortable clothing, a mat, and yourself. If you do not have a mat one can be provided.
Do you offer packages?
Yes if you are interested in a continuous practice we will work out a packaged deal for you.
